The recent hurricane in the Caribbean, earthquakes in Mexico and volcanic eruption in Guatemala have highlighted the devastation, follow on effects and ramificationsof the complicated aftermath. This presentation will therefore highlight the role of academic, public and privatesector and how their research can address: a. The impact of public policy and commercial applications after such devastating events and b. Future approaches of public and private bodies, and lessons that could be learnt.
